CHAT & SNACK is sponsored twice a month at Brenner Children's Hospital--the first and third Tuesday evenings--and once a month at Forsyth Medical Center-- the fourth Tuesday--from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Brenner Chat & Snack is held in the Conference Room, 11th floor, Ardmore Tower.
Forsyth Chat & Snack is on the 3rd floor in the NICU waiting room.

Grandparent Support Group (for grandparents of children with special needs) meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at local restaurants. The location changes. Please call the Family Support Network office at 924-5301 for more information.
NICU Parent Support Groups are held at Brenner Children's Hospital and at Forsyth Medical Center twice a month. The Brenner group meets from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays in the NICU Conference Room, 6th floor, Ardmore Tower. The Forsyth group meets on the first and third Wednesdays, noon to 1:30 p.m., in the NICU Conference Room, 3rd floor. Different craft activities are planned each week and a light snack is provided. Support groups offer parents a chance to relax in an informal atmosphere and visit with other NICU parents and a trained support parent who has "been there" in the NICU environment.
B.E.E.S. (Building Exciting Effective Strategies for parenting children with special needs), a parent support group, meets ten times a year, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Amos Cottage, beside Forsyth Medical Center.
Dates for 2010: Jan 28, Feb. 25, Mar. 25, April 22, May 27, June 24, Jul 22, Aug. 26, Sep. 23, Oct. 28. The Local Collaboration Team - a community resource for strengthening families - meets the third Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m. at The Special Children's School. Group includes representatives from the social services, non-profits, parents and the faith community. RSVP to 924-5301.
Support Parent Training This is a FREE training to equip parents of children with special needs to reach out and support other parents. The training will include communication and listening skills, understanding the stages of grief, accessing local resources, respecting confidentiality, and sharing your story. Please call 924-5301 for more information.
